Miss Melissa
Spanish

Hi! My name is Miss Melissa, and I have been teaching Spanish at TLC since 2018. Before joining The Learning Center, I taught Spanish at St. Bernard’s for a few years until it closed.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Creative Writing. Before teaching Spanish, I spent several years working as a travel agent, aviation insurance broker, and physician recruiter. Eventually, I chose to leave the corporate workforce to focus on my husband and our son, Declan.

My connection to the Spanish language comes from my roots. I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, and have also lived in the Dominican Republic and Mexico City.

I absolutely love TLC. The students, teachers, and staff are truly amazing. It is a joy to work in an environment where students receive such dedicated individual attention and support, along with an incredible education.

In my free time, my passion is cooking. I also love reading and writing.

Fun Fact: I’ve always wanted to write a bilingual children’s book and hope to finish one someday soon!
